Introducing the Superior solution for installing an 8HP transmission into your Skyline GTR!

The crown jewel of the new Superior kit is undoubtedly the billet RB bellhousing, ingeniously merging the 8HP centerplate into a singular unit.
Developed in-house at HPR, utilizing cutting-edge metrology-grade 3D scanners and Geomagic Design X software, the Superior Kit sets a new standard in transmission upgrades. Meticulously curated components ensure a premium feel and an unmatched driving experience for Skyline GTR enthusiasts.

Advantages of the Superior Kit are abundant:

• No chassis modifications required across all Skyline GTR models.
• Eliminates the need for cutting the bellhousing to accommodate starter or front propshaft.
• Matches the built length of the 6-speed Getrag found in the R34 GTR.
• No custom front propshaft necessary (spacer kit supplied for R32/33 users; R34 direct fit).
• Includes a billet steel flexplate for added durability.
• 100% bolt in with stock propshafts for R34GTR

The Superior Kit comes complete with a prepped transmission and all necessary parts for mechanical installation. 

With machining and external components like the bellhousing pre-installed, installation is straightforward. Simply bolt on your transfer case and install the transmission as a single unit.

NOTE
The Superior Kit necessitates CNC machining and modification of the 8HP converter, housing, and rear planetary gear, all carried out by our skilled technicians at HPR. Consequently, it will only be available as a complete kit inclusive of the transmission.

Propshafts, oil cooler, and controls are not part of this kit. For a comprehensive swap, please utilize our full package configurator.

The included transmissions are sourced from BMW vehicles originally equipped with the N57 engine. Rest assured, each transmission undergoes thorough inspection to ensure quality and is backed by a comprehensive 90-day warranty.

Used 8HP transmission specs

As standard, we include the upgraded A and D backing plates from Sonnax, all new seals, and breather mod kit installed.

Prepwork included

• Remove all internal components
• Remove mechatronics module
• Disassembly and inspection of all internal components 
• Inspect/measure all clutch packs/replace with new if needed 
• Supply and install Sonnax HD backing plates for A and D clutch
• Remove/install rear planetary gear (modified for GTR kits)
• Supply and install rear seal kit/HPR output change (if purchased separately in kit)
• Supply and install HPR breather mod-kit
• Supply and install HPR front seal kit
• Reinstall all internal components acc to specification
• Install Oil pan, mechatronics module, wiring plug
• Acid clean of transmission

Upgrade packages for 8HP transmissions are avaliable for purchase separatley.

 Note

• R34 GTR transfercase will not work with this kit
• R32/33 GTR Front propshaft needs to be extended with spacer kit
  included in kit price.
• Rear propshaft needs to be shortened for R32 and R33 chassis

8HP 70/75 build packages by HPR

All build packages are listed with a conservative HP and Torque (Nm) rating for good longevity of the transmission. The estimated rating can be used for all applications including Drag, track and street.

• HPR basic 800Hp 800Nm

Full internal inspection, Installation of Sonnax HD backing plate for A and D clutch.
Installation of new seals. The above parts used in the basic package are included in transmission purchase

• HPR Cat 0 build 1000Hp 1000Nm

This is a clutch stack rebuild, (stock capacity) done in house at HPR
Recommended for low mileage transmissions in good condition.

Installation of Suncoast Cat 0 kit:
Full disassembly, clean, all rotating assembly thoroughly inspected.
Dry stack clutch build to set clearance, final wet build.
Installation of Sonnax HD backing plate for A and D clutch.

Note
Sonnax HD E-hub will be replaced for all 38 spline applications and invoiced separatley.

• HPR Cat 1 build 1000Hp 1000Nm

This is a full transmission rebuild, done in house at HPR
Installation of Suncoast Cat 1 kit with following options:

Zip kit and Bushing kit from Sonnax, New genuine ZF solenoids if required.

Our work progress
Full disassembly and clean, all rotating assembly thoroughly inspected.
Replace pistons w seals. Install Sonnax bushing kit.
Full valve body teardown and clean, installation of Sonnax Zip kit and new molded valve body separator plate. Ream/replace with oversize valves if needed. Overhaul/test solenoids/replace with new if needed.
Full post test of valve body. Dry stack clutch build to set clearance, final wet build.

Note
Sonnax HD E-hub will be replaced for all 38 spline applications and invoiced separatley.

• HPR Cat 2 build 1300Hp 1300Nm

This is a full transmission rebuild, done in house at HPR
It comes expanded capacity clutch packs, and all the contents from the Cat 1 build plus
Sonnax HD E-hub and Suncoast Oil pump.

Installation of Suncoast Cat 2 kit with following options:
Zip kit and Bushing kit from Sonnax, New genuine ZF solenoids, Suncoast Oil pump, Sonnax HD E-hub

Our work progress
Full disassembly and clean, all rotating assembly thoroughly inspected.
Replace pistons w seals. Install Sonnax bushing kit.
Full valve body teardown and clean, installation of Sonnax Zip kit and new molded valve body separator plate. Ream/replace with oversize valves if needed. Overhaul/test solenoids/replace with new if needed.

• HPR Cat 3 build 1600Hp 1600Nm
  (not yet released)

This is a full transmission rebuild, done in house at HPR
It comes expanded capacity clutch packs, and all the contents from the Cat 1 and Cat 2 build,plus the Suncoast billet E-hub.

Installation of Suncoast Cat 3 kit with following options:
Zip kit and Bushing kit from Sonnax, Suncoast Oil pump.
